Lt Gen VMB Krishnan named Eastern Command chief in reshuffle

The Indian Army just switched up its top leadership across key commands. Lt. Gen. VMB Krishnan now leads the Eastern Command, taking over from Lt. Gen. R C Tiwari.
With nearly 40 years in service and stints like defense attache in London, Krishnan says being prepared for any eventuality and working with stakeholders is crucial for keeping the region stable.

Lt. Gen. Pushpendra Singh has stepped in as chief of Western Command, while Lt. Gen. Sandeep Jain is the new head of Southern Command.
Meanwhile, former Southern Command leader Lt. Gen. Dhiraj Seth moves up as vice chief of the army staff, helping run operations and big-picture planning for the whole army.
