Lucknow: Catering worker arrested after assaulting toddler at wedding

At a wedding in Lucknow's Itaunja area, a 23-year-old catering worker, Sandeep Kumar, was arrested for allegedly assaulting a two-year-old girl.
He had been invited by a friend and took advantage of the busy event to separate the child from her family.
Guests realized she was missing, paused the music, and eventually found her on a terrace—just in time to stop Kumar from throwing her off the second-floor terrace.

Quick action by guests and police

The guests managed to catch Kumar and called the police right away. Officers registered a case against him under child protection laws, including the POCSO Act.
The little girl was rushed to hospital for treatment. Police have arrested the accused and registered a case.
