Madhya Pradesh man sentenced to death for wife's murder

Wahid Lala, 32, has been sentenced to death by a Ujjain court for murdering his wife, Sanjeeda Bi, after accusing her of infidelity.
On March 25, 2024, Lala shot Sanjeeda with a country-made revolver at home.
He was found guilty of murder under IPC Section 302 and fined ₹4,000.

Judge called crime 'rarest of rare'

The investigation showed there was ongoing conflict in the marriage. Their son Farhan shared that arguments were frequent and there was a fight right before the murder.
After shooting his wife, Lala sent their children away—pointing to premeditated intent.
Judge Rajesh Kumar Gupta called the crime "rarest of rare," indicating it deserved the harshest punishment.
