Madhya Pradesh milk prices increase ₹2 to ₹4 per liter
From April 1, 2026, milk just got pricier in Madhya Pradesh: expect to pay ₹2 to ₹4 more per liter across cities like Indore, Ujjain, and Bhopal.
For example, loose milk in Indore now costs ₹63 per liter (up from ₹60), and similar hikes are showing up in other cities too.
Vendors cite green fodder, feed costs
Vendors say it's mostly because summer has made green fodder scarce and animal feed more expensive, so cows are producing less milk.
As Bharat Mathurawala from the state's Milk Vendors Federation puts it, We had to increase milk prices due to the shortage of green fodder during the summer season and the increase in animal feed prices.
The milk production capacity of cattle decreases during summer anyway.
Even loose milk is a bit costlier now, so everyone's feeling the pinch as these changes kick in.
