Maharashtra approves 800-km Shaktipeeth Expressway project
Maharashtra just greenlit a massive ₹20,787 crore budget for the Shaktipeeth Expressway—a new road linking Pavnar (Wardha) to Patradevi on the Goa border.
Once finished, this 802km expressway will shrink Nagpur-Goa travel time from 18 hours to just eight.
TL;DR
More than just a speedy route
This expressway isn't just about faster road trips. It's set to connect 12 districts and major pilgrimage spots like Mahur, Tuljapur, and Kolhapur—making travel easier for everyone from students to tourists.
The government says it'll boost tourism, help rural areas grow, and support inclusive development across Maharashtra.
They're also promising open talks with farmers about land issues so that progress benefits all communities.
