Maharashtra monsoon paused by weak winds, stuck since June 8
India
The monsoon in Maharashtra has hit pause, thanks to weak winds and missing weather systems.
After a fast start in Kerala back in May, it's been stuck at South Konkan and South Madhya Maharashtra since June 8, leaving most of the state dry.
IMD says isolated showers will continue
The IMD says isolated showers will continue for the next few days, but heavier rain might return near the Konkan coast around June 24-25.
Meanwhile, Northeast India is seeing steady rainfall, especially Assam and Meghalaya, while parts of central India are dealing with heatwaves, with relief expected by June 21.
Delhi NCR is getting some cooldown with light rain and thunderstorms.
