Man shaves wife's head over extramarital affair suspicion
In Bagalkot, Karnataka, a 31-year-old man named Umesh Kottalagi was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife and forcibly shaving her head because he suspected her of having an affair.
The trouble began when another man came to their house to collect food, which led to ongoing harassment from Kottalagi—even after repeated warnings from the wife's family.
Man arrested, sent to judicial custody
Things got worse on January 31 after an argument between the couple.
When his wife delayed opening the door, Kottalagi locked them inside, physically attacked her, and shaved her head with an electric trimmer.
Traumatized by the incident and fearing for her safety, she filed a complaint at Savalagi Police Station.
Police quickly arrested Kottalagi on charges of assault and harassment; he was remanded to judicial custody and a case was registered.
