Massive traffic jam paralyzes Ahmedabad-Mumbai highway

Days of heavy rain have brought the Ahmedabad-Mumbai highway to a standstill, with a traffic jam stretching over 15km and lasting more than 24 hours.
Key bottlenecks at Por and Jambuva bridges—where six lanes squeeze into four—are making things worse.
Even though Thursday's weather cleared up, there was hope for the jam to ease, but drivers were still experiencing delays.

TL;DR

Emergency vehicles trapped in gridlock

This isn't just an annoying delay—commuters, emergency vehicles, and especially truck drivers are all feeling the pain.
Ambulances are trapped in the gridlock, and police say things have only gotten worse over the past three days.
The constant rain has wrecked road conditions near National Expressway-1 and flyovers toward Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway.

Potholes everywhere

Monsoon downpours have left behind potholes everywhere, turning this busy route into an obstacle course.
Despite ongoing efforts from police and local officials to manage traffic, unpredictable weather keeps throwing new challenges their way.
