JEE Advanced topper cracked NTSE, KVPY; is a published author

As the results of the JEE Advanced 2019 were declared on June 14, Sonipat-resident Manan Agarwal emerged as Haryana's state topper, with an all-India rank of 14 (score 302/372). But did you know Agarwal also cleared various other competitive exams such as KVPY and NTSE and even wrote a novel in Class VIII? Let's take a look at how he pulled it off.

Details
Agarwal also scored over 95% in Class XII Boards

Agarwal finished schooling from the Jankidas Kapur Public School, Sonipat. Incidentally, the JEE Advanced Haryana topper also secured above 95% marks in the CBSE Class XII Board exams, India Today reported. Agarwal told the publication that he was inspired by his father to take on the competitive exams. "My family supported me a lot, and constantly encouraged me to perform better," he said.

Preparation
Used to solve computer-based mock tests quite regularly: Agarwal

Talking to the publication about his JEE preparation, Agarwal said he studied for 12 hours each day and solved various assignments, question banks, and mock tests. "A few months before the exam, I used to solve computer-based mock tests quite regularly- about two tests per day," he told India Today. Agarwal also acknowledged his FIITJEE Punjabi Bagh Center teachers for clearing his doubts.

Downtime
Agarwal balanced studies with recreation

Agarwal maintained that he didn't study non-stop and balanced studies with recreation. "I used to relax by watching movies and listening to music," he said. He did, however, steer clear of TV shows as resisting the next episode is quite a challenge. Agarwal said he also took care of his physical and mental health by going to the gym and meditating regularly.

Other achievements
Agarwal also cleared NTSE, KVPY, various Olympiads

Apart from JEE Advanced, Agarwal also secured all-India rank 194 in JEE Main 2019, with a 99.97 percentile in Paper 1. Additionally, he qualified KVPY and NTSE exams, and also cleared NSEP, NSEC, and NSEA Olympiads in Physics, Chemistry, and Astronomy respectively. He also qualified the Indian National Physics Olympiad (INPhO) and the Indian National Astronomy Olympiad (INAO).

Information
Agarwal also published a novel in Class VIII

According to India Today, Agarwal also wrote a novel titled 'A Blank Invitation' while he was in Class VIII. The novel is a new-age teenage romance and if you are interested in giving it a read, it's available for order on Amazon.

Future
Agarwal wants to get into IIT Bombay

Agarwal expressed his interest in pursuing Computer Science engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, however, he isn't just chasing after a secure job. Agarwal, whose brother is also an IIT aspirant, told India Today, "After getting IIT education, I would like to tackle various world problems like unemployment (by start-ups, etc.) and help, in some way, by contributing towards technological advancement."
