Mumbai autorickshaw and taxi minimum fares rise from September 1

Heads up, Mumbai! From September 1, taking an autorickshaw or black-and-yellow taxi will cost a bit more.
The minimum fare for autos jumps by Re. 1 to ₹27 for the first 1.5km, and taxis go up by ₹2 to start at ₹33, thanks to a new rule from the region's transport authority.
MMR: nearly 300,000 autos 30,000 taxis
This fare bump covers all of MMR, including Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan, Vasai-Virar, and Panvel, and impacts nearly 300,000 autos and 30,000 taxis.
Rising fuel prices (CNG now at ₹86/kg), maintenance costs, and permit fees have been squeezing drivers' earnings lately.
While unions wanted bigger hikes, this is the first increase since early last year and aims to give some relief to operators struggling with expenses.
