Mumbai just had its coldest night this season
India
Mumbai woke up shivering on Saturday as temperatures at Santacruz dropped to 14.6°C—the chilliest it's been all season and a full 3.4°C below the usual average.
This cold snap is actually pretty rare, making it the second lowest during the winter season since 2018 and third lowest in the last 10 years.
What's behind the sudden chill?
IMD scientist Sushma Nair says we can expect these colder nights to stick around for a few more days, thanks to ongoing atmospheric conditions and no western disturbances in sight.
Even Colaba felt it, recording a nighttime low of 20.1°C—definitely not your typical Mumbai winter!
