Big news for Mumbai commuters: a new cable-stayed bridge is coming between Madh Island and Versova.
With a price tag of ₹2,395 crore and stretching 2.06km, it's set to shrink your road trip from nearly an hour and a half down to just 10 minutes.
Soil testing has started, but the main build is waiting on Bombay High Court approval.
If things go smoothly, the bridge could be ready by 2029.
Bridge will include 4 lanes
This project has been in the works since way back in 1967, finally getting real momentum in recent years.
The bridge will have four lanes and a wider carriageway to handle more traffic, making life easier for residents who currently rely on long drives or seasonal ferries.
Once finished, it'll mean faster access to hospitals, schools, and better connectivity across Mumbai's western suburbs, all while keeping environmental impact around Malad Creek in check.
