Mumbai: Salesman steals ₹4.07cr gold, cash from employer's shop

A 23-year-old salesman, Jeetu Chowdhury, allegedly made off with ₹4.07 crore worth of gold and cash from Dalichand Jewellers in Dadar East.
Hired because of his father's ties to a neighboring shop, Chowdhury reportedly had access to the safe and left on Monday afternoon carrying a large bag.
The owners discovered the theft when they found the store's shutter open and valuables missing from the safe.

Police file case, launch manhunt for suspect

Mumbai's Bhoiwada police have filed a case for theft by clerk or servant and are searching for Chowdhury in Mumbai and Rajasthan.
Their focus now is on tracking him down, recovering the stolen gold and cash, and moving forward with legal action.
