Namo Bharat approval cuts Delhi Rishikesh journey to 3 hours
India
Big news for travelers: Delhi to Rishikesh will soon be a quick three-hour train ride, thanks to the newly approved Namo Bharat rail extension.
The 150-kilometer corridor will run from Meerut's Modipuram all the way to Lakshman Jhula in Rishikesh, with a survey coming up to finalize details like station stops and route alignment.
Train expected to boost Uttarakhand economy
This semi-high-speed train (up to 160km per hour!) will zip through Muzaffarnagar, Roorkee, and Haridwar, making trips for tourists and pilgrims way easier.
Besides faster travel, it's expected to give Uttarakhand's economy a boost by connecting cities and religious sites, opening up new opportunities for locals and making regional travel much smoother.
