NCB, state UT forces launch yearlong India anti-drug campaign
India
Starting September 2026, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is teaming up with state and UT Anti-Narcotics Task Forces for a year-long push against drug trafficking.
They've lined up 24 operations to crack down on drug networks across India.
NCB targets foreign nationals and syndicates
The campaign's big goals: track down foreign nationals involved in drug crimes for deportation, catch offenders on the run, and break up syndicates, part of the vision of Nasha Mukt Bharat (Drugs Free India).
Each month has its own focus, like checking medical shops for misuse in October, destroying illegal crops in January, and tackling darknet crimes or raising awareness in coastal areas.
The idea is to hit every angle, from law enforcement to community outreach, over the next year.
