NCR Planning Board proposes 4 Namo cities along RRTS corridors
Big plans for the Delhi NCR!
The National Capital Region Planning Board has proposed four brand-new Namo Cities along the Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).
These cities are designed to be self-sufficient, with homes, offices, and commercial spaces, all aimed at easing Delhi's crowding and making public transport smoother for everyone.
Namo Cities emphasize walkable transit
Namo Cities will be built around walkable neighborhoods and top-notch public transit, so you won't have to rely on cars as much: think less traffic and cleaner air.
The locations will be picked through a competitive process across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
Backed by ₹5,000 crore in funding (including a ₹1,000 crore grant), this project hopes to handle NCR's booming population while creating more jobs and better living spaces.
