NEET candidate accused of sexual assault gets temporary Mumbai bail
India
An 18-year-old NEET candidate accused of sexually assaulting a minor has been granted temporary bail by a Mumbai special court.
The bail lets him prep and sit for the rescheduled NEET exam on June 22, but he must surrender to police by 2pm on June 22, 2026.
Court bans threats and defamation
The court attached strict conditions: he can't threaten or defame the victim or her family.
His lawyer said the court granted four days' temporary bail, while prosecutors pushed for just one day.
The victim agreed to his release as long as safeguards were in place.
This re-exam comes after last month's NEET paper leak shook things up.
