NIA charges 6 in deadly Pahalgam attack
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against six people for the Pahalgam terror attack in 2025.
Three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants—Faisal Jatt alias Suleman Shah, Habeeb Tahir alias Jibran, and Hamza Afghani—carried out the attack that killed 26 civilians, most of them tourists.
The NIA recently submitted the chargesheet in Jammu.
What's in the chargesheet?
The massive 1,597-page document names not just the attackers but also their Pakistani handler Sajid Jatt and two local helpers, Bashir and Parvez Ahmad Jothar.
Investigators pieced things together by questioning over 1,000 people and digging through digital evidence like Aadhaar cards and social media profiles found on the attackers' phones.
The Jothar brothers admitted during interrogation that the gunmen were linked to LeT in Pakistan.
All three attackers were killed by security forces in Operation Mahadev this July.
