Apple Fitness+ launched in India: What does it offer?
What's the story
Apple has launched its fitness and wellness subscription service, Apple Fitness+, in India. The service is designed to assist users with their workouts by providing access to trainer-led workout videos. Subscribers can track real-time metrics of their workouts and monitor their progress toward achieving their goals through the Apple Fitness app. The launch marks a major expansion for the service, which is now available in 49 countries worldwide.
Pricing
Subscription details and family sharing options
Apple Fitness+ is available on a subscription basis, costing ₹149 per month or ₹999 for an annual plan. However, it isn't included in the Apple One bundle, meaning users will have to subscribe separately. The subscription can be shared with up to five family members. New customers purchasing eligible Apple devices from Apple or an Apple authorized reseller can also avail a three-month free trial of Apple Fitness+.
Features
Apple Fitness+ offers a variety of workout types
Apple Fitness+ supports 12 different activity types, including meditation, strength training, yoga, kickboxing, cycling, and mindful cooldowns. The episodes range from five to 45 minutes long for proper guidance. While the service works with an iPhone, users can also use their Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3 for real-time tracking of personal metrics such as heart rate and calories burned.
Customization
It allows customization and integration with Apple Music
The Apple Fitness+ app lets users create exercise plans for a personalized schedule. They can choose from pre-built plans or create their own based on their preferred activity, workout length, days of the week, trainers, etc. The app also integrates with the Apple Music app so users can listen to genres like Hip-Hop, R&B, Latin Grooves, and other energetic anthems while working out.
Wellness
Apple Fitness+ includes guided meditations
Along with workouts, Apple's Fitness+ service offers guided meditations focused on themes like Calm and Sleep. The 'Time to Walk' experience on iPhone and Apple Watch is aimed at encouraging people to walk more often. It features stories, photos, and songs curated by influential personalities like Daddy Yankee, Camila Cabello, and Shawn Mendes among others.
