Nihang Singh Khalsa Dal starts Punjab border toll June 20-21
India
The Nihang Singh Khalsa Dal is planning to start a permanent Khalsa toll for vehicles from Himachal Pradesh at the Punjab border, beginning June 20-21.
This comes after months of protests against Himachal's new entry tax, which the group says is unfair and has made travel and trade tougher between the two states.
Baba Achhar Singh promises welfare funds
According to Baba Achhar Singh, who is the in-charge of the Anandpur Sahib constituency, money collected from this toll will go straight to public welfare projects.
He emphasized that the toll will be peaceful and voluntary.
With no talks happening between the Punjab and Himachal governments so far, pressure is building as the deadline approaches.
