No more ₹125 fee for kids' Aadhaar biometric update
India
Good news for families—UIDAI has dropped the ₹125 fee for updating Aadhaar biometrics for children between 5 and 17 years old.
Starting October 1, 2025, about six crore kids can update their fingerprints, iris scans, and photos without paying a rupee.
Biometric updates are mandatory
This move is all about making life simpler—biometric updates are required after a child attains the age of five and then again between ages 15 and 17 to keep records accurate.
Now, parents don't have to worry about the cost when keeping their child's Aadhaar up to date.
