Noida's air turns 'hazardous' as AQI nearly maxes out

India

Noida's air quality just hit a worrying level, with the AQI at Sector 116 reaching 499—almost off the charts.
Other hotspots like Sector 125 and Sector 62 weren't far behind.
These are some of the highest pollution readings in India right now, confirmed by the Central Pollution Control Board.

Pollution spreads, authorities ramp up action

It's not just Noida—Greater Noida and Ghaziabad also reported severe pollution, with several spots crossing an AQI of 400.
Thick smog even led to a 15-car pile-up on Saturday, though fortunately, no deaths were reported.
With things getting this bad, authorities have kicked off stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan across Delhi-NCR to try and bring pollution under control.
