Odisha CM orders probe after 1,678 school textbook errors
Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has called for an investigation after 1,678 errors were found in school textbooks for classes one through eight this year.
These mistakes ranged from spelling slip-ups to wrong facts and even misused photos, like showing Karnataka's assembly instead of Odisha's.

A three-member committee will dig into how these errors happened and report back within a week.
Majhi has instructed officials to ensure that all errors are corrected immediately and safeguards are put in place to prevent a recurrence of such lapses, with strict measures likely against those found responsible.
Teachers are pretty frustrated, with Brahmananda Maharana, president of Odisha's Primary Teachers Association, questioning how these mistakes slipped through, and everyone's hoping future textbooks get a much better review.
