Perupogu Kranthi Kumar suicide in Vijayawada alleging CI Nagaraju harassment
A 42-year-old man named Perupogu Kranthi Kumar died by suicide in Vijayawada on May 21 after allegedly taking a selfie video accusing Krishnalanka Circle Inspector (CI) Nagaraju of harassing him for months.
His video brought to light another alleged case of police harassment in NTR Commissionerate.
Krishnalanka police register Section 194 case
Kumar's father said that police visited his house in connection with some cases, especially one on the day of his death, left Kumar anxious, leading him to take poison.
The family also mentioned ongoing personal struggles, like Kumar's wife leaving due to family disputes.
Krishnalanka police registered a case under Section 194 (suspicious death) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) as this was the second alleged incident of police harassment reported in Krishnalanka police station in May.
