PM Modi inaugurates new PMO building, 'Seva Teerth'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi just opened Seva Teerth, a brand-new Prime Minister's Office, or PMO, complex on Dara Shikoh Road.
It brings together top government offices that were scattered before, and what really stands out is the place itself: about 100 artifacts line its halls, turning it into a showcase of India's art and heritage.
Artifacts sourced from various institutions
The collection features everything from Chola bronzes and Ramayana wood panels to folk arts like warli and madhubani. There's even a carved table gifted by Vladimir Putin.
Pieces were sourced from institutions including the National Gallery of Modern Art, Lalit Kala Akademi, the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) and the MEA Toshakhana, with the whole display pulled together in just three months.
More than just a building
Seva Teerth isn't just about fancy decor; it's designed around the idea Nagrik Devo Bhava (citizens are like gods).
The four main visitor rooms are named for values like cooperation (sahyog) and peace (shanti).
As Modi put it, this space is meant to reflect what 1.4 billion Indians hope for, not just old colonial vibes, but something modern and people-focused as part of the Central Vista project.
