President Murmu's visit to Angola: India, Africa nation sign MoUs
President Droupadi Murmu just finished a landmark four-day visit to Angola—the first time an Indian President has visited the country.
She joined in Angola's 50th Independence Day celebrations and met with President Joao Lourenco.
Their talks led to the signing of two MoUs and discussions about expanding cooperation, especially around critical minerals, electric vehicles, and artificial intelligence.

Murmu also assured Angola that India will keep supporting them as a defense partner and help out in areas like energy security, diamond processing, and petroleum refining.
On top of that, Angola signed on to India's clean energy and wildlife conservation projects—joining the International Big Cat Alliance and Global Biofuel Alliance—showing both countries are keen on deeper ties in trade, health, infrastructure, and sustainability.
