PUC certificate charges in Maharashtra rise 20% after committee review
India
If you drive in Maharashtra, get ready for a fee bump: PUC certificate charges just went up by 20%.
The new rates kick in immediately and cover gasoline, diesel, and CNG vehicles at all PUC centers.
This move follows a committee review comparing fees with other states.
Maharashtra PUC rates ₹60 to ₹180
Two-wheelers now pay ₹60 instead of ₹50. Gasoline three-wheelers are up to ₹120 from ₹100.
Four-wheelers running on gasoline or CNG will be charged ₹150 (previously ₹125), and diesel vehicles now pay ₹180 instead of ₹150.
Maharashtra Vayuveg squads monitor compliance
All PUC centers have to clearly display the new prices.
Plus, Vayuveg squads (called Vayuveg) are checking that nobody overcharges and everyone sticks to the updated rates.
