Cause of fire yet to be ascertained
All patients were safely shifted to other wards while the affected area gets a deep clean.
Hospital officials said a detailed investigation will determine the cause. Officials suspect the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
Regular hospital work is back on track.
Why fire safety rules are crucial in hospitals
This incident is a reminder of why strong fire safety rules are so important in hospitals, especially ones like Sassoon that treat critical cases and have one of Pune's public hospitals with a burns ward.
Quick teamwork from staff made sure everyone stayed safe this time, but it highlights why these precautions can't be ignored.
