Pune wakes up to single-digit temperatures and early winter vibes

Pune just hit its first single-digit temperature of the season—9.4°C at Shivajinagar—thanks to chilly northerly winds sweeping across Maharashtra.
Other spots around the city dipped as low as 6°C, bringing on some real winter feels with fog and a noticeable chill in the air.

Cold snap makes air quality worse

The sudden cool-down hasn't just brought out sweaters; it's also made Pune's air quality take a hit.
The city's overall AQI stands at 159 (moderate), but places like Shivajinagar and Wakad are seeing poor levels, with AQIs over 229.
The combination of cold temperatures and calm winds is trapping pollution, particularly along major traffic corridors.
