Punjab man kills daughter, records video, shares it online

In Ferozepur, Punjab, a man named Surjit Singh allegedly killed his 17-year-old daughter, Preet Kaur, on September 30, 2025.
He reportedly tied her hands with a scarf and threw her into the local canal—capturing the entire act on his phone.
The disturbing video quickly spread across social media. As of October 4, her body has not been recovered.

Singh thought Preet brought 'disgrace to family': Police

Singh believed Preet was "disobedient" and brought "disgrace to the family," according to police.
After her nephew Sahil Chauhan reported the crime, Singh was arrested and charged with murder under Section 302 of the IPC.
As of October 4, search teams are still looking for Preet's body in the canal while authorities examine video evidence and continue their investigation.
