Puri's Jagannath Rath Yatra embraces technology
This year's Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri (June 27) is getting a tech upgrade. Organizers are rolling out apps to give devotees live updates and make the whole experience smoother.
To handle the massive crowds, 21 parking spots have been set up, with five extra spaces ready if things get packed, according to Additional Director General (ADG) of Traffic, Dayal Gangwar.
Security is tight
Security is tight—11 agencies just ran a big mock drill led by Puri SP Vineet Agarwal to make sure everyone's prepared for emergencies.
The festival will see three brand-new chariots pulled through the streets for Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra.
Festivities kicked off with Snana Purnima on June 11, where the deities were bathed in sacred water—a cherished ritual that sets the tone for what's ahead.
