Railways to run 89 special trains amid IndiGo flight cancellations

Central Railway to operate 14 special trains
The Central Railway will run 14 special train services to meet the heavy demand. These include Pune-Bengaluru-Pune on December 6 and 7, Pune-Hazrat Nizamuddin-Pune on December 7 and December 9, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Madgaon-LTT on December 7 and December 8. Other services include Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Hazrat Nizamuddin-CSMT (December 6-7), LTT-Lucknow-LTT (December 6-7), Nagpur-CSMT-Nagpur (December 6-7) Gorakhpur-LTT-Gorakhpur (December 7-9) Bilaspur-LTT-Bilaspur (December 10-12).

South Eastern Railway announces special trains
The South Eastern Railway has also announced special trains in view of the rush after recent flight cancelations. Santragachi-Yelahanka-Santragachi will depart from Santragachi on December 7 and Yelahanka on December 9. Howrah-CSMT-Howrah Special will depart from Howrah on December 6 and CSMT on December 8. Cherlapalli-Shalimar-Cherlapalli will depart from Cherlapalli on December 6 and Shalimar on December 8.
Eastern services
Eastern Railway to run special trains
The Eastern Railway, which is among the 19 zones of the Indian Railways, will also run special trains between Howrah, Sealdah, and other major destinations. Howrah-New Delhi-Howrah Special (03009/03010) will depart from Howrah on December 6 and New Delhi on December 8. Sealdah-LTT-Sealdah Special (03127/03128) will depart from Sealdah on December 6 and LTT on December 9.
Western services
Western Railway announces special trains
The Western Railway will run seven special trains to meet the increased travel demand. Mumbai Central-Bhiwani Superfast Special will run twice a week between December 9-30 from Mumbai and December 10-31 from Bhiwani, totaling 14 trips. Mumbai Central-Shakur Basti Superfast Special will run daily except Tuesday and Friday from Mumbai and daily except Wednesday and Saturday from Shakur Basti between December 8-30, totaling 32 trips.

Indian Railways to run additional services from Gorakhpur
The Indian Railways will also run additional services from Gorakhpur. Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Terminal-Gorakhpur will run on December 7, 8, and 9. Gorakhpur-LTT-Gorakhpur will run on December 7 from Gorakhpur and December 9 from LTT. From Bihar, East Central Railway will run Patna-Anand Vihar Terminal-Patna on December 6, 7, 8, and 9. Patna-Anand Vihar Terminal-Patna will run on December 7 and 8. Darbhanga-Anand Vihar Terminal-Darbhanga will run on December 7 and 9.
