Rajasthan: 15 dead, 2 injured in minibus fire
On Sunday, a minibus carrying devotees home from Bikaner's Kolayat temple caught fire after hitting a parked trailer truck on the Bharat Mala Highway near Phalodi, Rajasthan.
Sadly, 15 people lost their lives and two others sustained serious injuries and were referred to a hospital in Jodhpur.
This is the second major highway fire accident in Rajasthan within just a few weeks.
Victims mostly from Jodhpur's Sursagar area
Most of those who died were from Jodhpur's Sursagar area, and their families are now dealing with the identification and post-mortem process.
Just three weeks ago, another bus fire on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur highway claimed at least 20 lives—raising serious questions about road safety.
Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has promised support to victims' families and better medical care for the injured.
Former CM Ashok Gehlot also shared his condolences online, reflecting growing concern over repeated tragedies on state highways.
