Rajeev Khanna arrested in Delhi for fake Jeeni Company powders
India
A 56-year-old Delhi man, Rajeev Khanna, has been arrested for allegedly running an 18-month-long racket making and selling fake Ayurvedic powders under the Jeeni Company brand.
Police say his sons, also involved, are currently on the run.
The products were sold online through e-commerce platforms.
Rajeev Khanna reportedly repackaged wheat flour
The whole thing came to light after Dhanalakshmi, owner of Jeeni Company, filed a complaint last August about trademark misuse and health risks.
Police traced the operation to a warehouse in Shalimar Bagh and raided it on March 27, seizing counterfeit goods.
Khanna reportedly admitted he was just repackaging wheat flour as Ayurvedic products.
He is now in custody while police investigate further.
