Rajesh Sharma urges Modi to protect sailors after US attack
After losing his son Aditya Sharma in a US military attack, Rajesh Sharma has appealed to Prime Minister Modi to step up protections for Indian sailors.
His request came just after Modi spoke about maritime security at the G-7 Summit.
Rajesh thanked Modi but stressed the need for stronger safety rules, especially for those working in risky international waters.
US strike killed 3 Indian sailors
Aditya was one of three Indian sailors killed when the US Navy struck the oil tanker MT Settebello near the Strait of Hormuz on June 10.
The attack left 21 other Indian crew stranded until Omani forces rescued them.
India responded by summoning US diplomats twice and calling the strike "Such lethal actions against commercial shipping are not justified."
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar raised concerns directly with US officials.
