Rajnath Singh empowers CDS for joint military orders

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has now allowed Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan to send out joint orders that apply to all three military branches—Army, Navy, and Air Force—replacing the old system where each did its own thing.
The first joint order under this new setup was rolled out on a Tuesday.

TL;DR

Joint orders for better coordination among forces

This change is all about making India's military work better together—cutting down on confusion and helping the services team up more smoothly in tough situations.
It builds on recent reforms like the Inter-Services Organisations Act, 2023, and lessons from real operations.
By letting one top officer coordinate everything across the board, India's defense is set to be more modern and ready for whatever comes next.
