Rats in Madhya Pradesh hospitals spark serious hygiene worries
Rats have become a big problem in government hospitals across Madhya Pradesh.
Most recently, patients at Jabalpur's Victoria Hospital found rodents on their beds and even inside food containers—definitely not what you want when you're trying to recover.
Sadly, this isn't the first time; other hospitals in the state have faced similar issues, with reports of patients being bitten and even newborns losing their lives due to rat bites.
What's being done about it?
Victoria Hospital's health officer, Naveen Kothari, says they'll ramp up pest control and blames ongoing construction work for making things worse.
The situation at Indore's MY Hospital has caught the attention of both the Human Rights Commission and medical education officials, who are now investigating the specific incident there.
