RBI releases April 2026 bank holidays up to 12 days
Heads up: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) just dropped the list of bank holidays for April 2026, with up to 12 days when banks will be closed in some states and cities.
Big dates include Good Friday on April 3, Baisakhi on April 14, plus the usual second and fourth Saturdays, and every Sunday.
Both public and private sector banks are covered, with closures varying by state and city.
Bank holidays vary, digital options available
Bank holidays aren't the same everywhere. They change depending on your state or city, so places like Ahmedabad and Chennai might have different off-days.
But even if your local branch is closed, you can still do all your usual stuff online or through internet banking, SMS banking, WhatsApp banking, or digital/net banking.
RBI's rules make sure you won't miss out on transfers or bill payments just because it's a holiday.
