Southwest monsoon covering Telangana Odisha Jharkhand Bihar parts of Chhattisgarh
Heads up: The southwest monsoon is about to cover Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and parts of Chhattisgarh in the next four to five days, according to the IMD.
After arriving late in Kerala on June 4, it's already spread through Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, most of Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
Uneven monsoon, hail and heat risks
Even with the monsoon moving across India, rainfall hasn't been consistent: 239 districts saw less rain than usual this month.
Northeast India, parts of Tamil Nadu, and parts of Kerala are expected to get heavy showers from June 18-24.
Meanwhile, a new western disturbance will bring rain to northwest India between June 18-22, but hailstorms are possible across Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during June 18-20, and Bihar, Odisha, Telangana, and parts of Uttar Pradesh could still face heatwave conditions.
