Srinagar police station blast: 3 dead, several injured
A tragic accidental explosion hit the Nowgam police station in Srinagar on Friday, leaving three people dead and several others hurt.
The blast happened while police and forensic teams were checking out explosives that had recently been seized in connection with a terror investigation.
Several vehicles inside the compound were also damaged.
What's behind it?
Turns out, those explosives came from a recent raid in Faridabad, where nearly 2,900kg of ammonium nitrate was found and a doctor named Muzammil Shakil was arrested for his alleged role in a Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module.
This group is suspected to be involved in multiple plots—including one near Delhi's Red Fort.
After the blast, fire crews rushed to the scene, roads were closed off for safety, and investigations are still ongoing.
