Sudhakar Singh legal notice seeks Ayodhya Ram temple trust records
The trust behind Ayodhya's Ram Temple is in the spotlight after Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Sudhakar Singh sent a legal notice, while former Samajwadi Party MLA Pawan Pandey claimed that ₹7 to ₹7.5 crore meant for the temple was misused.
The notice asks for full records of donations and spending from the financial year 2021-22 to 2025-26, plus audited balance sheets, income and expenditure statements, auditors' reports, details of bank accounts, records of land purchases, and information on foreign contributions under the FCRA.
This has stirred up political reactions from opposition leaders.
Champat Rai denies misuse claims
The trust's general secretary, Champat Rai, firmly denied any wrongdoing, saying all funds are handled properly.
Political leaders jumped in: Akhilesh Yadav wants a judicial probe, while Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut accused BJP of misconduct.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak defended the state government, pointing out that an SIT is already investigating and calling out rivals for playing politics.
