Sunday evening downpour drenches Lucknow with spots over 50mm
Lucknow got hit with a sudden, intense downpour Sunday evening; some spots saw over 50mm of rain in just 45 minutes.
Chinhat and Sitapur Road topped the charts with 51.5mm and 51mm each, while Kakori and Sadar Tehsil weren't far behind.
This follows Friday's heavy showers at Amausi Observatory, which recorded 56.4mm in three hours.
Lucknow flooding disrupts traffic, cloudy Monday
Major roads across Lucknow were flooded, making it tough for people to get around.
Areas like Gomti Nagar's Vinay Khand and Vivek Khand were especially waterlogged, causing big traffic jams between Indira Gandhi Pratisthan and the PICUP building.
The weather office says Monday will stay generally cloudy with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
IMD issues Prayagraj orange alert
The IMD has issued an orange alert for very heavy rain in Prayagraj and nearby districts on Monday.
A yellow alert is out for several other places (including Rae Bareli, Barabanki, Bahraich, Shrawasti, Basti) and warns of possible disruptions and safety risks if the weather gets rough.
