Survey finds flu symptoms spreading across Delhi-NCR amid H1N1 surge
India
Flu-like symptoms are spreading fast in Delhi-NCR, with a recent survey showing that more than half of households have at least one sick member.
Out of nearly 32,000 people surveyed across Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad, 23% said four or more family members were feeling unwell.
This points to a high chance of the virus passing within families as H1N1 cases surge.
Delhi records 159 new influenza cases
On August 20, Delhi saw 159 new influenza cases (114 were H1N1), bringing this year's swine flu total to 1,777.
The ICMR says there's no new strain; it's still the same A (H1N1) pdm09 variant in circulation since 2025.
While most recover on their own, kids, older adults, and those with health issues should be extra careful and seek medical help if needed.
