Tragic end over property dispute in Karnataka
In Vishwanathapura village near Bengaluru, a 30-year-old woman named Mala allegedly killed her eight-year-old daughter and then died by suicide.
On June 21, Mala reportedly tied her daughter's body to her back and jumped into an agricultural pond.
Both were found dead after relatives reported them missing.
Case of abetment to suicide registered against husband
The tragedy appears linked to a family property dispute—Mala's husband had transferred land to a relative without telling her, which led to serious arguments.
After the incident, police registered a case of abetment to suicide against the husband based on complaints from Mala's family.
The couple's other daughter, age 10, survives them.
Authorities are investigating further and have highlighted mental health helplines for anyone struggling with similar issues.
