Unexpected light rain in Mumbai as 2 western disturbances approach
Mumbai saw some unexpected light rain in a few suburbs this week, even though the IMD didn't officially record it.
Meteorologists say it could be due to a western disturbance, and nearby districts like Thane and Raigad were already on yellow alert for thunderstorms.
If you're in north or northwest India, keep your umbrellas handy: two active western disturbances are set to bring light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, with peak activity on April 3-4 and again around April 7.
North India hail and heavy rain
Northern states could see hailstorms and heavy rain (especially in Kashmir) on April 3 and 4.
Delhi might get gusty winds up to 40km/h through April 5.
Central spots like Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh may get scattered showers too.
Thunderstorms are also expected in parts of western India, including Gujarat and regions of Maharashtra, over the next few days.
Stay safe out there!
