Uttarakhand police launch Dehradun's Operation Prahar after MK Joshi killing
After the killing of retired Brigadier MK Joshi, Uttarakhand police have rolled out Operation Prahar in Dehradun.
Decided in a high-level meeting led by DGP Deepam Seth, this operation is all about boosting police presence and cracking down on rising crime, especially during those early morning hours when things tend to get risky.
Dehradun raids result in 14 arrests
With Inspector General Rajiv Swarup supervising and SSP Pramendra Dobhal handling things on the ground, police have stepped up raids and citywide checks.
Just on Tuesday night, 14 people were arrested for drunk driving and several vehicles were seized.
There has also been a crackdown on illegal liquor and late-night loitering.
SSP Dobhal has made it clear to bar owners: follow the rules or face strict action if caught breaking them.
