Vaishnaw and Fadnavis flag Pune-Sainagar Shirdi, Vaishnaw starts Pune upgrades
Maharashtra just got a major railway boost: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis flagged off the much-awaited Pune-Sainagar Shirdi Express, finally answering Sai devotees' requests.
Later in the day, Vaishnaw flagged off the Pune-Danapur Amrit Bharat Express from Hadapsar and kicked off big upgrades at Pune station.
₹2L cr for Maharashtra railways
Pune station is getting six new platforms, longer existing ones, a new entry, and a terminal at Alandi to handle the city's growing crowd.
Maharashtra will see nearly ₹2 lakh crore invested in railways, including new freight corridors to cut logistics costs and revamps at 132 stations like Mumbai CSMT, Pune, and Nagpur.
Plus, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train is expected to launch by 2027.
