Vande Bharat sleeper train hits 180km/h in test runs

The new Vande Bharat sleeper train just clocked 180km/h in recent test runs on the Kota route—pretty impressive for Indian Railways!
These trials, held from November 2 to 17, are part of the 'Mission Raftar' and 'Make in India' pushes to boost homegrown tech and speed up travel.

Train was tested over a 100-km stretch

Engineers put the train through its paces over a 100-km stretch, checking stability, safety, and how smooth the ride felt—even when fully loaded.
Experts from Chennai's Integral Coach Factory and other teams joined in.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Jain stated that this achievement is another strong step toward Indian Railways's technical self-reliance and global competitiveness.
