Vladimir Putin says he looks forward to meeting Narendra Modi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin are set to meet soon at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

Putin, chatting with India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, shared his excitement about seeing Modi and sent his best wishes.

He even hinted there might be another meetup later this year.

Russia India seek expanded economic ties

The leaders are looking to boost their partnership across trade, energy, fertilizers, nuclear power, and technology.

Putin highlighted how fertilizer exports to India have grown, helping out Indian farmers, and said he's open to expanding this support.

Modi's personal push has helped trade bounce back in 2026 after a dip in 2025, showing the strong connection between the two countries.
