IMD issues yellow alert for Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. The alert predicts light to moderate rain in these regions over the next three days. The IMD also forecasted isolated to scattered rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, south Rayalaseema, and south coastal Andhra Pradesh during this period.

The IMD has identified that three weather systems are likely to influence the rainfall patterns in these regions within peninsular India. These include a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal, a Western Disturbance in middle tropospheric westerlies, and a trough extending from the Bay of Bengal through Tamil Nadu to Kerala.

Weather forecast for Delhi and Mumbai
In Delhi, the weather is expected to remain clear with mist and haze till November 11. The minimum temperature is likely to be between 14-16°C, while the maximum may reach 28-30°C. Meanwhile, Mumbai witnesses clear skies as it transitions into post-monsoon conditions after two days without rainfall. Daytime temperatures are expected to be around 33°C with a minimum of 23°C.

Rainfall and temperature drop in northwest, central India
The IMD has also predicted light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms over most parts of Tamil Nadu till November 8. Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka are likely to witness similar weather on November 6 and 7 with lightning and gusty winds, reaching 30-40km/h. A significant drop in minimum temperatures is expected across Northwest and Central India over the next two days, with no major changes thereafter.
